NASA SEWP VI

What changes in SEWP VI, and how do primes manage it in Govly?

September 1, 2026

The short answer

SEWP VI moves every tech refresh into NASA's CHOP portal, requires UNSPSC codes on each line item, limits tech refreshes to one a day and adds a five-tier contractor rating with off-ramps. In this session, Govly shows how primes filter roughly 600 SEWP solicitations a week, route quote requests and check tech refreshes before submitting.

Key takeaways

  1. Same economics, ten times the competition. SEWP VI has about 1,500 holders, a $20 billion ceiling, a 0.34% program fee (versus 0.75% on GSA) and a 10-year ordering period starting November 1, 2026.
  2. SEWP V and SEWP VI are separate. They use different sites and marketplaces, and no catalog carries over. SEWP V ordering can be extended through April 30, 2027.
  3. Stricter tech refresh (TR) rules. TRs go only through the CHOP TR app, every line item needs a UNSPSC code, TAA defaults to non-compliant unless flagged, and TRs are limited to one a day with a 5,000-line limit.
  4. Performance is rated. SEWP VI uses a five-tier rating system with rolling reviews and dormant and off-ramp statuses, plus AbilityOne, ISO and dedicated-website requirements.
  5. Volume is the first problem. SEWP V posted more than 30,000 solicitations in the past year, about 600 a week. Saved searches by set-aside, NAICS code and vendor cut that to the ones you can win.
  6. Automation saves time per quote. Govly customers using automated quote-request routing to distributors save about 1.75 hours per request, and Govly's SEWP Tools checks TRs for existing CLINs, duplicates and formatting errors before submission.

Questions answered in this session

Does Govly connect to our CRM?

Yes. Govly supports off-the-shelf Salesforce and HubSpot integrations, an API, and an MCP connection for AI agents.

Can admins control who submits bids and tech refreshes?

Yes. SEWP program managers can set, at the admin level, who can submit a TR or a bid.

Does Govly provide catalog management?

Govly keeps a copy of your SEWP catalog to check whether parts and CLINs are on contract, but as of September 2026 it is not a full catalog management tool across multiple contract vehicles.

Will Govly support SEWP VI Categories B and C?

Yes. Govly said it will support services holders and is moving SEWP Tools into the opportunity workspace partly to handle services-related TR needs.
